More evidence we live in the sticks

If the cock-a-doodle-dooing all day & night is not enough, the scene just outside our backyard fence just proves my point...we live in the sticks. Okay, maybe not the BIG STICKS...but maybe, the little sticks...just a bit.

It's a daily occurrence that we see families of chickens - there are roosters aplenty...but as I was in the backyard today, I heard something run out from the brush of our neighbor's trees and bushes. It was a wild pig...actually, a boar. And like a dumb person, I ran into the house to get my camera to snap a picture. As I got closer (did I mention I was making dumb moves today?), it saw me and took off the same way it came. Luckily, it was the opposite way from our backyard and ME!

Remember a few years ago when the lights went out...we were hanging around your home and heard your neightbors hunting a pig?! I still can remember the awful yelping coming from across the street!! Yea, who'd have thunk that Aiea could be considered "the sticks?" Ha!
