Merry Christmas from our family!

I usually like to take an annual family picture around Christmas time at least with the kiddos but this year, we opted to use our family's vacation pictures for our Christmas card. But, I still wanted a family picture to mark the year. Here it is!
Hope your holidays are full of joy and great memories!

Another Christmas performance!

Tonight, our ward had our annual Christmas dinner which featured a play called, "What the Animals Saw". It was the Christmas story from the perspective of the animals. Dallen was the Ox. Although he felt a little bit sick, he pushed through and did a fabulous job! As did everyone involved!

Christmas Performances aplenty!

Alphabetland had their big Christmas production last night and once again, it was held in the Leeward Community College theatre. Their theme was Alphabet Christmas and Brennen's class represented the letters T, U, & V. They also sang "A Little Christmas Tree". They all looked SO cute!!! Afterwards, they had a Santa Clause on stage giving out a present to each child - Brennen's eyes were huge but he toughed it out and actually went up to Santa. What a big boy!!

Today, Austen had a short singing performance at school followed by a Frosted Christmas Tree-making activity. I'm not sure how much actually got on his tree but he seemed to enjoy making it!

Congratulations Dallen!

Dallen received his second STAR AWARD from Alvah Scott. The award is for outstanding student achievement, classroom accomplishments, and growth during the school year. He received this award in 2nd grade as well. Only 2 students per class per grade are given this award per semester. We're really proud of him!

It's funny because when Dallen came home with this note he immediately noticed that there was an award for Perfect Attendance for students with no absences or tardies. He was quiet for a moment and said, "well, I guess I'm not getting that one!" Although, this year's tardy tally count is WAY less than last year! Whew!

My tomboy princess

Who knows what Chyler will do with her life but for now, her options are socialite with the pretty dresses or a bag lady with her own cart. Hey, it's a toss up!

Like sand in the hourglass...

Well, it certainly seems that way! Our renovations are moving slower than slow...were stalled for awhile but picked up again.

Our kitchen has been sitting there just waiting to be filled with cabinets. Unfortunately, our first cabinet guy took our money and ran. We paid him about $5000 to start and then we never heard from him again. What's worse is that he was Lad's friend. Action has been taken so hopefully, we have a resolution soon. With most of our cabinet funds tapped out, we had to go and look around for another avenue. We finally decided on these cabinets and hired their guys to install both the cabinets and countertops. Ours is a basic kitchen - no real bells and whistles but it cost an arm and a leg so when they say kitchen renovations are expensive, they are right! But, here's our kitchen now. The cabinets and countertops was completed in 3 days. After some tweaking, we're finally satisfied. Now, onto the tiny-detail asthetics and the appliances!

When it rains it pours?? You bet! We wanted a garbage disposal but found out that we needed to change the pipes outside which entailed breaking the concrete. (more cha-ching!) Coincidentally by blessing and blessings alone, our backyard development started up again. They were digging trenches for our drainage pipes and were breaking some of our concrete to lay pipe so we were able to break the concrete for the garbage disposal too. The plan is to lay more concrete on the side of the house so it probably worked out really well. While we're waiting for the concrete job to start, they did plant grass on the bottom tier. It may not look like much now, but I'm assured that my bermuda grass will be in after about a month. Yay!!

Happy Holidays!

The holiday season is upon us. I still can't believe it! But, I'm proud to say that our tree and our decorations went up while still in the single digit days of December.

As a special holiday treat for you...2 serenades! Enjoy!

We hope your holidays are happy! Merry Christmas!
