Lad surprised me - which I liked but didn't at the same time because I'm a planner - by booking a weekend at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. We went to the Top of Waikiki for our anniversary dinner. I couldn't really feel it moving but Lad, initially, said that he felt a bit queasy. (If you look at the a stationary object on the moving platform and compare it to the non-moving areas on the outskirts, then you realize you're moving.)
Anyway, dinner was yummy! Lad (naturally) had the 16 oz Grilled Roasted Garlic Ribeye Steak with Maple-Togarashi Bacon with soy balsamic glaze, patatas bravas & wasabi aioli and Potatoes Au Gratin, which looked like a cheese-smothered casserole. (He couldn't wrap his head around the garnishes to understand why they did them the way they did) I had the Hawaiian Snapper Sous-Vide-Chinese Style with Szechuan Seafood Udon. It was SUPER yummy!

To show you how old we really are - we thought about catching a movie or strolling down Waikiki...but instead, we went back to the room and were asleep by 10pm.
Hey, it's not often we can have uninterrupted sleep! Gotta take advantage of that! The next day the kids joined us to make it a family anniversary weekend!
Special thanks to Mom and Dad for enduring one night with 4 kids!
